Today an LCARF volunteer assisted our consultant with the July round of water quality monitoring in the Horse Creek watershed. It should come as no surprise that there is very low flow at the moment – the lowest we have recorded since we started the program in 2012.
Wetlands are drying up which makes life difficult for birds and other fauna.
We did see Wilsons’ phalaropes where they nested last year. Snipe, godwits and lots of swallows under the bridges.
